Uair Platform Cancel?

Something I noticed a couple weeks ago in a few matches I've played, and I haven't seen it on the forums before so I thought I'd share.

When you drop through a platform and hit someone with an uair fast enough, you will actually land back on top platform. The uair must make contact for it to work. I'm guessing it has to do with hit frames causing you to stall or something... someone enlighten me please lol.

I'm not too sure how useful it can be, but it makes following up an uair much easier.
