As long as people aren't using macros or something like that, if they can connect it they can use it,.

Yeah mang, lotsa controllers. I use a 360 controller on PC set-ups because I'm too lazy for an adapter. And I've just started playing Smash on PC more in general because my 64 controllers are getting old and I don't want to wear the joysticks loose with too much hard Smash action now.

because I'm too cheap for an adapter.
FTFY. There's nothing difficult about using an adapter. It just costs some money and a few days wait time. Laziness should not be a factor. It would have been better if you had simply said you don't want to wear out your joysticks.

Adapters can cost up to $30 and some people can't be bothered splashing that amount of cash when they can play on PC. So lazy was the right word.

You just discussed the price of an adapter and then claimed it was laziness. You're wrong.

In addition to that, a pre-owned xbox 360 controller is $35 (http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/accessories/xbox-360-wired-controller/40646). You can get a decent pre-owned n64 controller for $20 and a mayflash adapter for less than $12 on amazon (http://www.amazon.com/May-Flash-Controller-Adapter-Nintendo-64/dp/B002B9FIUU).

N64 controller with adapter:
-controller price: nothing, already own'em
-adapter: need to order one
-more wear on my dear N64 controllers

360 controller:
-controller price: nothing, already own'em
-adapter: none needed
-no wear on my dear N64 controllers

So basically one thing takes time and effort and doing something, the other does not, with the added bonus of not adding to looseness of thumbsticks. One requires something, other requires nothing. Why do something when nothing is the better option all around?

Not sure how much simpler that could be.

In the time you've spent arguing, you both could have earned the money to buy any number of adapters.

A lot of people already own a 360 and a controller for it so you are not spending money on that. And why spend cash that you earned when it simply isn't necessary?
