Event - E3 Invitational 2014 Two "Smash 4 hate" threads were just locked by a moderator. Not allowed to criticize the game now?

So basically, we are not allowed to judge a game or comment on it (unless it's positive comments) or a thread gets locked due to 'flame wars'.

Also if you have a problem with that we should just "go play your favourite smash bros".

No more negative talk towards Smash 4 allowed? Thought this was a discussion board and not a circle-jerk.

People say we need to be grateful for the smash games... but why should be?. If you are not happy with a product, we are in our right to complain. I dont care if we are a minority, i srly dont give a *** about it. What irks me is that Sakurai took a game that was perfectly fine, a game that both casuals and hardcore players enjoyed...and he turned it up into something for the masses, when previously the masses WERE already enjoying it. It makes no sense.

It will be not changed much from what we saw. Even if testers give all the feedback to Sakurai, he will just ignore it. He doesnt want anyone mastering the game to the point of destroying newcomers in an instant. he wants everyone to be able to pick the game up first try and will prevent all possible skilled techs and make it as neutral as possible.

No im not. I think sakurai has dropped the ball once again. I dont care if he will lose his arm because of this, because in my eyes, he is being as selfish and as stubborn as he can be. With us, with their fanbase. Thats unforgivable.

Not the point. Melee is the very best of the franchise, but is mindblowing that new modern smashes are like going into the caveman era in comparison to melee.
Cant you see that he is alienating the very fanbase who turned this franchise into the sucess it is now?. The competitive scene of Brawl was non existent in comparison to Melee. M2K mained metaknight because he was the closest thing to a melee char. That should tell you how competitive Brawl characters were.

With more reason... if we are so insignificant...why Sakurai targeted the competitive community in first place?. It is because we played the game how WE wanted,... not how HE wanted. But this man, instead of embracing that, just went the opposite and dumbed down the game. SELFISH.

Its almost incredible to think that in the era of melee, we all enjoyed the game under the same flag... but in the brawl era... the community went to the extremes OF PATCHING the game and turing it into something else because it was so dumbed down and flawed. It is NOT the community´s fault and negativity... it is Nintendo´s and Sakurai´s fault for alienating their loyal followers in the first place.

Yes, THE LOYAL fanbase who played melee for 8 years nonstop , everytime like if it was the first day playing the game. Not the casuals who play the game for 4 or 5 months and then shelve it to never see the light of day again.

Brawl lacked this passion, Brawl disrupted the community. Sakurai did it.


If this new game makes history repeat itself.... i hope it will be the last one done By sakurai. And i dont care if a new guy comes and destroy the series as we know it, it cannot be worse than how it is going so far.

Third thread just locked because people were describing why people may not be happy with Smash 4. The thread was very calm. Locked for 'Flame War starting'

I think we've got a mod who doesn't want to see any negativity toward Smash 4...

As for locking several impression threads, each one of them has non-stop flame wars going on and reports being sent to us left and right. We are currently working on an alternative to help promote discussion of the Demos but for now we have chosen to lock any threads we deem unnecessary or troublesome.
