Trying to run BrawlEx; gets hung on "Online Interactions" screen

I'm running BrawlEx alongside Balanced Brawl. As far as I know, there should be no problems running the BBrawl Omnibus code (changes the mechanics of the game) with BrawlEx. I have the SDHC extension code installed as well as the File Patch Code 3.5.1b included in the BrawlEx readme. The game freezes on the "Online Interactions not rated by the ESRB" screen that comes between the Wii Remote strap screen and the first Loading Screen. What should I do?
