Trying to record matches with a digital camera.

Basically, the video comes out with all these black lines going up the screen. (I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about) Is it my TV or my camera? And is there a way to make it stop or not happen was much? It gives me a headache watching it, and I'm not joking when I saw it would probably give someone sensitive to that kind of thing a seizure.

Any tips?

PS: The quality, other than the lines, is decent. Not spectacular, but decent enough to watch. So I don't think it's the camera.
