Trying to improve...

So I am fairly new to smash in most senses and I really want to get better and be able to hold my own against decent people from around the world. I don't intend on ever doing any smash tournaments or anything of that sort, I know I'm not going to be that good ever but I want to at least be good enough to play with others and have fun. All I want is to get better and be able to play against real people (instead of the lvl 9 sheik and diddy bits I'm used to) and learn more about the game and how to improve. I don't really know anyone in the smash community so I turned to here to ask if there is anyone out there that would be willing to play with me and teach me some of the basics of the game. Ideally I'd like to be in team speak playing smash with you while you gave me tips and explained to me what I should do in certain scenarios and what options I do have in each of them. I'm not expecting you to be Zero here, but someone with enough game knowledge to help me learn would be preferred. thanks everyone and I hope that I can start to become a positive member in this community. (I am on a 3ds so the limited controls kind of inhibit my play some, and also control my character selection.) I would ideally like to get good at CFalcon, Mario/Luigi (or both), ZSS, and Sheik (since that's apparently a staple). Thank you all and I hope to hear from you guys.

I have looked for a ts3 server for smash but haven't really found any. I have a gaming community that would allow me to set up a channel on their server for Smash if there was enough interest in it.

Don't say you'll never be good enough to go to tournaments, some of my friends have that mindset too and even tho i've never been to a smash tourney i always say you'll never know how good you really are until you go. If you want more practice, try for glory and smash ladder to face more players and get accustomed to matchups and learning people's style midgame. If youneed a practice partner i'd love to play with you and help you get better. I mostly play on the Wii U but i still play a good amount of the 3ds version. My FC is on my account
