Smash Apprentice
Hello, new to smash here. Just got the Wii U. Anyways, my first couple of days playing online I found only some matches (1v1 glory is all I've been playing) have been laggy. I had gotten a lot of what seemed to be lag-free matches and tried sticking with that player. Ok, but now here's the problem. Yesterday and today after getting home from class (around 11 am/lunch time) I've been getting lag 1v1's non-stop... over and over. A lot of them were playable but then sometimes it would lag so bad it'd become a slide show or everything just seemed a bit delayed.
I'm trying to figure out if this is on my end or not, or if it's the time of day and most people in US or at school or work (I can't tell what region the people are from that I match with, is there a way how?). I haven't had a chance to test it later in the day yet because I've been busy. I'm mainly a PC gamer and always have extremely smooth connection on my desktop (wired connection) My service is Verizon Fios. I don't know if or how to speed test my Wii U's connection, so to replicate that I took my mom's little work laptop last night, brought it into my room where my Wii U is and did a speed test there (not using my desktop for a comparison because it's wired not Wi-fi like the laptop.)
Here are the results:
Laptop on Wi-fi- Ping- 7 ms, download speed- 27.14 Mbps, upload speed- 47.57 Mbps
My desktop results are obviously much better hence the direct connection. But I'm really trying to troubleshoot what may be going on here. Is it on my end? Or is it the game, or the other player. I need to know and possibly fix this because I want to buy splatoon soon which is a multiplayer based game. I live in NJ so if there's anyone else on the east coast that has good connection that'd like to 1v1 with me-that would be a great way to really find out which end it may be on. Anyways, input on this appreciated, thank you.
