Trouble with backwards waveshine

I'm sure a lot of Falco's have this problem when first starting out. When I try to waveshine backwards sometimes I just turn around? Any tips of correcting the problem?

You just have to make sure you jump and hit L before inputting your direction. Practice is the key, and you will get sick of hearing that but its true.

Practice mode, FD, once you can do it there, slowly implement it in battle for combos.

I can shine combo fairly well it's just when I try to waveshine backwards, Falco just turns around sometimes. I'll just keep working at it.

Like the others have said... Practice, practice, practice...

Remember that there is a distinct rhythm to Falco's wave dashing... It's pretty unlike all the other characters. Once you get it down, drill it a few times and it should become second nature.

Shine, and when you acually "feel" yourself getting out of it, wavedash backwards.
