So, I was messing around, trying to teach myself to do a Zap Jump after dropping from a ledge. Naturally I killed myself a lot. Many times I would do my PKT instead, because I mis-mashed my buttons.

And thus, an excellent attack was born.

Lucas (and Ness) both pause in the air after starting their attack. So, I can drop from the ledge and use my PKT quickly, and then quickly turning it into the floor and canceling it, and I grab the ledge again. Hard to explain,? yes.

So I made a video.

It includes:

Using PKT to protect yourself/knock enemies away when you are hanging from a ledge.

Using the Zap Jump to surprise opponents.

Not using the Zap jump to attack opponents.

Some funny stuff that happened while filming this.

Please leave feedback.

I hope the fact that it's 5 AM isn't the only reason this is cool ;p

I loved the music.

Most of the techniques were already known, but it's good to have them in one place.

Lol, sigh. So hard to find something new.

Ok, so, my question is, since it has been found out, how come I haven't seen the PKT ledge protection used? I mean, is it easily guarded / does it suck a bunch?

I gotta say most this stuff is known but I was really glad someone put it on to video. This better make it to the video how to section cause videos are soo much better than explanations.

BTW, a great way to get up from the ledge I use against characters like marth. When holding on to the ledge I drop down psi magnet twice then zap jump. It puts the PKF barely above the stage which will hit any character standing there and send you above them to come down on. I use this constantly, even on players that Know I do it, and the best they can do is shield the PKF...but I'm still on top of them.

Hrmm, I just started doing this more on some GB games...and I gotta say this is changing my game for the better.

In melee when someone was coming back and you were edge hugging you could simply get up while they were trying to grab the edge and you gain invincible frames. This was pretty much negated in Brawl since if you try to get up during their recovery move they grab on....

Now after watching this video I am knocking players off the edge then grabbing the edge...then when they are coming back I use the PKT edge stall shown in this video to regain the invincibility frames. The timing takes getting used to but I just 3 stocked the last 2 players I went up against doing this.

I used to just time my SH to edge hog but this way I'm already on the edge so I have soo many more options depending on what my opponent does.

Just ask!
Wow, this video really helped - a lot.

Would anyone happen to know where Onett`s secondary music, [aka Mother 2], is on the SSBB downloadable OST?

I just watched the video and noticed what happens at 1:57. It's extremely hard to replicate but I've done it a few times on purpose. Not that I've discovered any use for it yet or anything but it's an interesting property to look into. Yay for fooling around and discovering stuff.
