I don't know how many people have seen the triforce ganondorf mod for PM, but it's awesome. It gives ganondorf new modes like how samus has ice and fire modes. It leaves his standard mode completely unchanged for the people who love ganon's moveset but using taunt it also gives him a magic mode and a sword mode which makes him really unique and differentiates him as his own character (finally).

The mod is great and I was wondering if the PMBR would ever consider it in an official update of Project M. Considering many people are talking about the whole Black Shadow / Ganondorf swap anyway I think this is just as good. It basically gives you 3 unique characters and keeps one of them as the classic ganondorf we all love. Plus all the work is already done. I have it on my PM and it works GREAT. Never had a problem with it.

Sure it gives ganondorf a slight buff but mark my words he is NOT OP. I have done extensive testing with my cousins and nothing about him is OP. Yes its a buff, but it is certainly dealable. I certainly think giving him a chance would be a very good idea. It's just one more great thing PM could have to offer.

Triforce mode is a load of actual ****, and Ganon already differentiates from everyone else in the cast.

It's not necessary, and it's not what he needs at all.

^that.

people have already complained about how shiek/zelda allows you to counterpick midmatch. so let ganon have three different forms to use midmatch?

and it's not like ganon even needs huge changes at all. he's close to what you'd want as a balanced character. he only needs a few tweaks to keep the camping and projectile issues from entirely holding him down in unviability.

not three forms crammed together that pretty much entirely changes the character.

Triforce Ganon is a cool idea, and he's loads of fun, but he'd be an entirely unnecessary addition to PM.

theres nothing stopping you from using this gannondorf in your own game though...

but currently he can't put the sword away like he used to, I'll stick to 2.3

I think its loads of fun. Seeing it part of the real build would be cool. I guess for me it was more about making him less of a captain falcon clone. Not so much about a need for buffs, but more just because it is a fun addition.

No such thing as clones.

I would be okay with that Whole Black Shadow/Ganon swap. But pretty sure that is to touchy to ever actually happen.

I have always advocated making a few of Ganondorf's moves spawn the sword (like the current swordsman ganon fsmash) but was always told that it'd be too difficult... never mind that Snake has a new fsmash that uses a weapon that doesn't even have a model in the game

then one guy comes along and in not a whole lot of time, by himself, does what others said was too much hard work and gives Ganondorf a sword moveset, complete with disjointed hitboxes and (get this guys) actual CANON moves. at this point in the sword movest those would be ftilt, fsmash, dsmash, downb and sideb (which is vanilla)

now I know it sounds like I'm advocating this, and I would be, if that was the only stance change. stance changes exist in other fighting games, and are actually generally balanced. if the stance change was still only the sword, I would be one of the people petitioning to have it be an offical update, Melee purists be danged

BUT, since there are now three stances I can't in good conscience do that. Sheik and Zelda can be balanced to compliment eachother. but triforce Ganondorf is like if Zelda could switch to current Mewtwo as well. that would be extremely unbalanced. and so is triforce Ganondorf.

if they put in a new Ganondorf with just the sword as a stance change, then i'm all for it; as it is, swordsman Ganondorf has better stage control but is slightly slower and has a terribad recovery, and captain Ganondorf has the strengths and weaknesses he always had. that can be balanced imo

It's just not gonna happen. Sorry bud. Balancing Triforce Ganon would admittedly be a ridiculous undertaking, and you'd have to fight the current Ganon lovers the entire way anyway because change is baaaad.

Don't let that stop you from continuing to use Triforce Ganon in your own game though. He's a lot more interesting than regular old Ganon.

I dont agree on adding exactly that triforce ganon mod, but i feel that ganon could get a new unique moveset using both sword ans magic to resemble his actual games moves, and add Black Shadow(main villian of F-Zero series) with ganons old moveset, that way it would make sense why he is a Captain Falcon clone.

Hmm, on one hand, Ganondorf would be able to use his sword and stop mooching off of Captain Falcon's moves(Wizard's Foot? Really?). On the other hand, Some of those moves are a little unruly, unnecessary, and would definitely alienate those that are used to Ganondorf's PM moveset and doesn't want it to change. Your Mileage May Vary.

I like how you say this but whine to no end whenever anybody says something about changing Zelda lol

I like how people say I bring up Zelda too much but then go ahead and bring up Zelda when I made no mention of her. But if you insist!

Zelda has a unique moveset. Ganon has an uninspired moveset based off of a character who isn't even from the same game. Evil wizard + sword wielder? Nah, let's just have him punch and kick instead.

And FYI, I am open to Zelda changes, just not changes suggested by the salty, ignorant masses who want to completely redesign the character from the ground up.

Now let's get back to Ganon.

It was less about Zelda (in fact, I really don't think she needs to be changed and is fine as is) and more about your hypocrisy. Let's take a look at a post of yours from the tier list speculation thread

You got one thing right - these arguments always end up pitting the people who actually enjoy Zelda Ganon against the people who do not main the character, have not put time into the character, will never put time into the character, and yet somehow think they know better than the Zelda Ganon mains and should have an equal say in how she is designed and developed. I'm glad that you're admitting that this community is rampant with pompous people who cannot fathom the idea that they might not be experts on everything.

Honestly, at this point, the only person I'm open to having an actual discussion with is Umbreon since even though we disagree on a lot of things, he actually seems to care about the character's fate and has put time into trying to play her. (Umbreon, if you're ever interested, I'll send a PM your way sometime.)
The rest of you can continue to pat each other on the back every time you insult the Zelda Ganon players who only want to preserve what they like about the character. Thank you for making us feel like valued members of the PM community.
I'm just going to take a guess that you don't play a lot of Ganon. You may not like the fact that Ganon's moveset isn't canon, and that's all right as everyone is entitled to there opinion, but a lot of the people who play Ganon happen to like his current playstyle. I'm not trying to say that Ganon mains have to deal with people calling their character "gay" or "lame". I'm trying to say that going on about how you want Zelda's playstyle to be preserved because you and other Zelda mains like her the way she is and then going into another thread just to **** on Ganon mains for doing the same thing is kind of dumb. Anyways, I don't really feel like putting any more effort into this, because I've seen you go on for pages in other threads and I don't really want to make that sort of time commitment. You can have the last word in this that I'm sure you so desperately crave.

I see that debating and defending what you like about your character on the PM forums suddenly amounts to "craving the last word" or "whining like a baby." Yet another example of the immaturity of certain members of this community. If you don't like what I have to say because I dare to defy the bandwagon, then put me on ignore. I'm not going to stop posting about my character just because it annoys you.

And I never said I wanted to change how Ganon is played. I think the role of a punisher fits him perfectly. But you go ahead and continue putting words in my mouth.

I kindaaaaa think triforce ganondorf is amazing, but it's really not something I think ganondorf needs. For one, he has never had much of a canon moveset to begin with out "Ganon/Beast" form, in which he used the trident, not an execution based sword of light or whatever. Secondly, the mod itself doesn't meet the quality standard of Project M in terms of animation SFX and balance etc. Thirdly and lastly, I'd much rather have a Giga bowser based character file made that allows you to play as beast ganon (trident and all). <More or less my bias here.

Except that would take a clone engine slot (and an incredible number of work hours) to create a character with the intention that the character never be playable. Giga Bowser was already in the brawl data as full character.

That said, a Pig Ganon w/ a trident would be a legit character addition. AlttP Ganon would be pretty sweet.
