I've played this game before, and i can honestly say it is extremely fun. not only can it get super fast paced, but it is also a technical game in the sense that you HAVE to build AND kill anything that comes at you.

Some more terms:
node - telenode (human spawn build)
as2/as3 - Alien Stage (2/3), something humans say in team chat to inform their team that the enemy team has evolved
hs2/hs3 - Human Stage (2/3), something aliens say in team chat to inform their team that the enemy team has received reinforcements

Also, you can download just the gpp on windows without any problems iirc
