This is just like my wavedash thread (I learned how to wavedash too, yay!) and it is pretty simple but very helpful. As you know SHFFLing is one of the most difficult adv. techs you can possibly learn and it isn't an overnight deal. Come here to discuss tips on SHFFLing, how you learned how to SHFFL, which do you prefer (SHFFL-ANA, SSHFFL-ABA, etc.), the term itself, or which characters utilize it best. A short defintion of SHFFLing:

SHFFL : Stands for Short Hop, Fast Fall, and L-Cancel. It is an adv. tech that utilizes other adv. techs for a single and expert-level combo exicutable by all characters. It is also one of the fastest and most difficult moves in the game. Of course, to pull off the SHFFL you have to do an attack in mid-air after short hopping so other terms were created as followed:

SHFFL-ANA : Refers to the SHFFL being performed with a Nair (Neutral Air) attack.

SHFFL-ABA : Refers to the SHFFL being performed with a Bair (Back Air) attack.

SHFFL-AFA : Refers to the SHFFL being performed with a Fair (Forward Air) attack.

SHFFL-AUA : Refers to the SHFFL being performed with a Uair (Up Air) attack.

SHFFL-ADA : Refers to the SHFFL being performed with a Dair (Down Air) attack.

I do not take credit for the naming of these terms so do not hold these names against me. OK that takes care of the information part, feel free to discuss.

You can train on melee vs mode by setting a comp to level 1 on your stage of choice (I go for FD). Of course the advantage of this method is that you can use your c-stick for aerials whereas in training c-stick is used to zoom in and out.

Why us the c-stick?

Simply because it's alot easier to perform shffl'd dairs (SHFFL-ADA) as it doesn't require you to tap down on the analog stick twice. Of course you can perform the dair at the peak of your jump to incorporate the fast fall at the same time, but you leave a hole in your attack at the early stage of it (when you short hop).

I can SHFFL pretty well. When learning how to do it don't just SHFFL into the air, cuz when you actually hit an opponent the timing for the FF is different.
