An idea that I feel should be implemented in the next iteration of P:M is displaying and tracking wins. Currently smash only represents kills through the illustration of stars and a number in the character card. During play sessions with friends we are constantly trying to keep up with who has the most wins and ultimately I feel this is an opportunity for it to be shown in game.

Its something that's been in almost any fighting yet I don't understand why it isn't implemented in smash. Obviously this might seem insignificant to a lot of you but it would be a really nice addition to any local multiplayer because it would allow everyone to track their wins easily and having it on screen would further the multiplayer experience. Its the really the small additions that tie in the whole experience.

Wins could be represented with an crown and a number just like kills. In all honesty I feel like this should be implemented into the next update that is to come.

This is definitely not a new idea and has been brought up a few times in previous threads that have long since died aha, but it's been met pretty positively each time iirc. Glad to hear PMBR is considering it now~

Actually a previous poster Belsophos was my local friend and he wanted me to bring the topic back up to gauge more peoples view on the idea.

Sure, I don't see why anyone would be against this.
Probably would only be against it if you're playing someone you can never beat but always come close aha. The salt will be real~

Maybe keeping the kill counter along with the win counter would be a good idea.

Doesn't it already tell you the number of kills you have next to the stars after a few kills?

Yep, we're talking about replacing it with a counter that keeps track of wins instead though.

@ ECHOnce ECHOnce I can't keep both. This will replace the KO stars
Oh well. I'd take a win counter over a kill counter, and that was the original idea anyhow. A win counter would make it seem more reminiscent of tournament play, since it doesn't consider how close each match was. It's just that much more exciting aha. With kills, people lose track and tend not to care as much. The salt will keep us going this way.

I actually think the KO count is more valuable than a Win count and here's why..

In tournament play, there is always a person keeping track of wins and usually displaying them on screen on stream. Seeing them for a split second before players start a new match won't be too beneficial. The only thing this could prevent is a new spectator walking up and saying "oh, what match are they on?" which will only be prevented between matches. In other words, it feels redundant.

Speaking from experience, when I play casually with friends, I tend to play better than them. With a win tracker, they might feel defeated seeing a 0 constantly, but with a KO count they can at least see the work they're putting in and have encouragement to keep trying to improve.

I think the ultimate solution would be a toggle option, but this otherwise feels redundant.
