Due to tournaments needing specific settings (some of which I'm not too fond of personally, like big radar), and the ability of the Switch to store multiple save files for the same game, I opened up a separate account on my Switch to have the tournament settings in.
Things I've done:
• Set all system-wide rules to be EVO-compliant
• Cheesed my way through unlocking all characters again
• Eased the stage striking/counterpicking process by keeping versus rulesets specifically for striking/picking
• Reduced the number of menus by having identical rulesets for each legal stage, with stage choice set to "Random" and the stage in question being the only one active

(Note: the Random BF/Ω rulesets have 2D stages disabled, and the hazards on ruleset is mainly for friendlies on stages like Smashville and Fountain of Dreams.)

What else should I do to prepare this account? There's a few things I'm especially unsure about.
• Mii Fighters—how do I handle them? Which movesets do I put pre-installed?
• Music—I CAN unlock every song again, but is it a necessity?

I've decided what to do about the Mii Fighters. The ones I'll have ready are the ones from Spirit Battles (courtesy of this thread), with the move numbers in their name (e.g. Flying Man is "FLYIN…2122"; the one-character ellipse is in the special symbols keyboard) and just let people make a temporary one if they want another move combination. (I AM going to make Miis for all the spirit characters, but that's just for fun and not really necessary, especially since the game uses the default Miis for each class regardless of costume. You can easily just use Guest A-F if you want to, though I will be posting the miis I'm using here after they're all made, just for the sake of reference.)

As for music, I'm going to unlock everything and set all tracks on all stages to have an equal chance of playing.

Home-Run Contest can nab you a lot of fighters, Mii Costume pieces, and music relatively fast. And I've beaten World of Light eight times, even before Very Easy mode was introduced, so burning through what I earn there isn't a problem.

The account is simply called "Tourney" and not linked to any My Nintendo/Nintendo Network account, so it does not have any custom stages. Its avatar is the Star Fox insignia.
