Tournament tomorrow

Hi Guys.

There's a Melee tournament happening tomorrow and I'm attending it.

My main is Luigi, and I have a pretty strong feel for him except for the wavedash.

I know I'm probably going to run into alot of players playing the top 4 (Fox, Falco, Marth, and Sheik)

My question here is what stage is Luigi the best at, and what stages the 4 above are worst at. There are a number of banned stages so I have to factor that in.

Also any other tips would be helpful

Luigi likes FD because of his ridiculous wavedash, and he can mess up spacies there. When I play Luigi, I also like YS because I can cover pretty much the entire stage in less than a second. The shyguys can gimp your recovery though.

I would stay away from YS and PS with Fox, just because he can kill you off the top very fast. With Marth, I'd probably want to take him to DL and FD.

I'm not a Luigi main though, so someone else can probably give better advice.

First i'd like to say Welcome to the community. I am pokemongeof, a fellow Luigi player.

You have to find the wavedash; it is a necessity for Luigi. It is his basic movement.

Luigi is best at bigger stages with platforms, so Battlefield, Dreamland, and Pokemon Stadium are all good.

The Top 4 don't really have a bad stage, but avoid the smaller stages.

Be most cautious with Marth and Shiek. They're Luigi's worst matchups. Although the spacies matchups seem like they're in the spacies favor. Luigi can combo them really well.

For me the Wavedash is my biggest liability, I haven't mastered yet. I know there's tons of videos out there for it.

I know I placed 4th in a Brawl tournament a month ago, so that helps a bit

Wavedashing is pretty much his ONE form of movement. It's important to learn it as soon as possible.

The tournament must have passed by now by for the future, Dreamland is Marth's worst stage.
