I'll probably be going to my first tournament soon, so I wanted to ask you all: what are the things that I should bring? Controller obviously, but what else? Water, money, etc... Comment below.

Thanks guys.

I'd say the only things you should really bring are a controller, money (more than just the entry fee), a bottle of water, and maybe some snacks. It's usually more convenient if you keep everything in a bag or backpack

Sounds good. Is the money for money matches as well as purchasing random stuff near the venue? I hear money matches are a big deal.

Money matches are generally not that big in my area. It's nice to have some spare ones though for some MM just in case it comes up

Generally, the rule for any kind of travel is "bring more than you need". Bring extra money, bring extra snacks, bring an extra controller (if you have one), and so on. Always better to be safe than sorry. If you have a phone that dies fast, bring your phone charger. If you're going to spend the night at someones house near the venue, bring bedding and toiletries (pillow, blanket, toothbrush, deoderant, etc).

Good advice. Better safe than sorry, huh?

Bring a setup if you can, its always appreciated in every tourney. In the worst case, if it isn't needed, it'll just stay in your bag. :)

FOOD! You save so much money rather than eating out 3 times in 1 day
