Battle field: Legit, it is flat, and has platforms good place to fight in a tournament.

Delfino Plaza: I am not totally sure, because the change of places, but I think it can be.

Yoshi Island: Yes tournament Legit, very nice flat stage with platforms.

Lylat Cruise: I think so according to MLG rules, It is slightly flat and has yet again platforms.. It will maybe be a challenge of watching the things in the background.

Bridge of Eldin: It is not I think because of the picture, it breaks, seems like it would be a stage fault death, in a tourney, so we will have to see.

SmashVille:I am undoubtedly sure this will be Legit. Flat and perfect, also my favorite stage.

Rumble Falls: No, because it is a scrolling stage.

Skyworld: Not sure , because the breaking away of the stage, but I think it can be legit.

Castle Siege:Yeah for sure great stage, work for a tournament great.

Wario Ware: No, because to many things on screen that you would have to do other than fighting.

Pokemon Stadium: Of couse, so great, and legit in Melee, all the way great.

Battleship Halberd: Yes, it seems like a stage that works, I will probably being playing on it in my tourneys.

Shadow Moses Island: Oh yeah sure, looks simple good to play on.

New Pork City: No, same reason a Hyrule Temple, too big, and this one also to far apart platforms.

PictoChat: No, because nonsense stage just, a for fun stage here.

Summit Peak: not sure really, because it tilts and moves, not sure.

Because a topic like has NEVER been done before. <_<

And it's not this is way TOO EARLY to be declaring which stages is legal and which isn't. >_>

I do not like your opinions. Why would Pokemon Stadium be legit but the Bridge of Eldin not be? That makes no sense. I can see the bridge stage very legit in tournies, but Pokemon Stadium doesn't seem like that because of it's new transformations that make it hard to fight (like the wind and ice ones). I also don't see why a stage would be banned just because it's "fun to play". Pokefloats in Melee was a very fun stage and it wasn't banned.

Please give us more logic behind your opinions.

Bride of Eldin will break away to much and way to much space, and poke floats is banned in MLG league.

I also disagree with some of your un/banned stage choices.

For Skyworld:

You CANNOT jump or fall through the platforms without breaking the land on the clouds. Now at first this seemed all well and good until we realized that there is a little bit of a hyrule problem on this stage. I quickly realized you can jump stay in the center of the stage and basically never die, you can almost always tech on something. While the stage is broken away there are some interesting things that can happen. You can spike people THROUGH the clouds that you land on which is actually pretty cool looking, but not exactly something we all want happening all the time.
I, personally, feel that that's more than enough reason to have the stage more as a counter-pick at best, however, I'm sure there might be more people that feel that it should be banned.

Pokemon Stadium 2 should be banned. The floating version gets utterly annoying, apparently, the electric version is difficult because of the conveyor belts - one minute you're running as slow as ever, and the next you're flying across the screen. Not very tournament appealing, IMO.

I do agree with pretty much anything else. I'm confident that Delfino will be at least a counter-pick stage. Though, I'm highly unsure of Castle Siege. The first section (on top of the castle) seems legit enough, but then the second (inside the castle) is all walk of edges. The basement level of it has that lava or whatever, and isn't exactly very legal on it's own, either. Maybe a counter-pick at best.
Bridge of Eldin will be banned, most likely. It's walk of edges, it's HUGE, and the breaking of the bridge is a little too much interference, IMO.

Also, PokeFloats is a counter-pick stage. It is not banned.

The other approach with stages is to choose a stage that you feel incredibly comfortable on. I've seen players who specifically practice on levels like PokeFloats just because it is so seldom played in tournaments. Pokefloats is a moving stage that runs along a set pattern. Some think that moving stages are banned simply because they move; it's rather because they move at random (more on this later). Pokefloats, because it runs on a set pattern, is left on, along with the other moving stages, Rainbow Cruise and Mute City. However, since the stage moves, some players prefer not to play on it and don't have expierance on it, making a player who practices on Pokefloats much more deadly than one who plays only on Final Destination.

Clearly the two worst Tournament stages are Pictochat and Warioware. XD

Battlefield and Smashville for the win.

Yeah, I've seen awesome counter-pick matches on Poke Floats. Some people here know the stage very well, especially when Goldeen pops up basically out of nowhere, and the time interval between Chansey pop-ups.
