Tournament item idea

The reason i hate play with items is because they are unfair. there have been countless times (more than i really think are statistically possible) that i've landed an attack on a spawning bomb and blew myself up, or a heart falls right in front of my friend who im just about to kill.

but heres an idea that would make items legit in tournies that i wouldnt mind seeing.

This would be a special mode that you enable : "Item Battle"

After choosing this mode and starting the game, at the bottom of a the screen there would be a box and a timer.

So, the timer would start at an adjustable time, something like, 5, 10, 15, 30. It would countdown to 0, and upon reaching 0, it would instantly spawn an item in your hand. That item would be shown in the box and would change after the item spawned and the counter would start over.

This would give players an equal shot at using the item, as each player would get the same one, at the same time. Then it would be your skill with the tiem that dictates who wins, not who it spawns next to, or who picks it up first

what do you think?

That wouldn't be good if you were attacking as you got it. Could cause problems. You may not even want the item.

I would also imagine it would become a bit boring, being able to predict items and having the same item at the same time.

I would treat it like I treat Giant Melee... only play it like twice when im really bored.

I still don't understand why some people think that people don't find organized tournament play Fun.

Alot of people do,and I do as well.


I really wouldn't care for this idea,it would make up for all of a characters disadvantages,and enhance the advantages of the better characters.
