Hello,
This is my first time on the 64 boards. I've picked up an appreciation for competitive play since P:M, but have been playing since 64's release. I'm here to obtain ideas in order to craft the best rule set for a tournament that will consist of casual players completely unaware of the entirety of their character's moveset let alone concepts such as z/L/smooth landing.
The venue is a pub, and their will be at least two set ups with the main one on a large projector screen. The main guy who has been hosting the video game nights is primarily concerned with time constraints and ensuring people get to play. He was not aware ssb allowed for team matches, but he also hasn't unlocked Ness yet...
I was thinking of taking existing rule sets and then modifying them. Things like items have to be considered, as well as stock amounts.
So far what has been unofficially aggred upon is single elimination 4-stock team matches. Personally I would prefer a round robin set up, but the ruleset has to be mindful on time restraints. That being said, I think it would be safe to ban recovery items, while allowing participants to decide on items like bomb-ombs and hammers.
Any input would be appreciated.
