Usually people do double elimination with brackets. So find a website that does most of that for you.
Find out the rules for whatever you're doing, ex: banned stages, no items, best 2/3, 2 stock on brawl/wiiU, 4 stock on melee, etc. stuff like that.
Have more than 1 setup, smash tournaments usually take for ever. 20 people with double elimination could be like 3 hours

@ LoganS97 LoganS97 10 tvs? How many people are you having? I'm about to hold a tournament with about 34 people, and I really only need 8 tvs, maybe 2 for friendlies.

@ K Kenkoku well the thing is the church were having it is giving us 5 tv's that are in the rooms and then lending us 3 projectors to use, then we have 2 box tv's at our school that we use for our smash club, which we would bring for people to do friendlies on so we have about the same amount, and like we have our club with 20 people saying they are coming than the rival school across the city has 15-25 people planning on coming, then 10 others said they will be there, so hopefully like 60+ people will show up

@ MellowTV MellowTV are you still in school? If so, that's a great place to start reaching out and asking people about smash. You have to settle for a few casuals in the beginning, but it's a stepping stone to gathering enough people to start holding tournaments.
