Hello People,

Allow me to preface this title by saying I have a lot of Smash experience since I have played since Smash 64. But anything past playing with friends on the couch is past me. Recently, a friend came over to my place and we decided to dust off melee and I got completely destroyed. To note, I am a very competitive person. I have done Sonic speed runs, I'm part of the showdown Pokemon scene and I am a Jazz musician (lol). Being whacked so easily by my friend got me upset and I wanted to know how to beat him. So like any smart young man, I Googled, "how to get good at smash" xD. I eventually found my way to the smash wiki and read up on many techniques I had no idea even existed and watched some saved tournament streams and was astounded. I never knew that smash, a game from Nintendo, would be so deep.

So, I've come to this board to become a better player in melee and possible project m and possibly compete in tournaments down the line once or if I ever get good as the game looks more amazing than ever before.

Fortunately, joining so far in means you get to have a much easier start on stuff than the players back in like '02 probably had. If you are in Cali, you should find it super easy to improve quickly provided you stick with stuff despite what happens. Through the losses, frustration, and time commitment.

But, have a good time!

You in Cali? Join the Facebook groups. We got the best Melee scene by far.

You SoCal or NorCal? Hit me up.

I do live in Northcal, I am pretty close to Sacramento and San Francisco, about a 30 minute drive to both. I had no idea Cali had a good smash group, I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the feedback guys!
