Do any of you bros. incorporate shield-dropping into your game?

If so, what's your preferred method*?
(i.e. Shielding on Frame 2 of Crouch Frame or Rotating the Control Stick?)

I'm trying to get more consistent with it and I am trying to test when shield dropping would be appropriate in friendlies, but I only do about one per set in-bracket. I use the stick roataion method Axe uses:

Most of the time I do the rotation method; not Axe's where you hold all the way to the side first (which is a method 3 Shai drop, though the numbering is arbitrary), but the one labelled "Shield drop (easy)" in Kadano's table. I'm currently trying to incorporate Shai drops.

You should definitely learn shield dropping, though it is admittedly pretty far down on the priority list of techniques to learn (don't bother learning this before you can perform wavedashing and things like that consistently). I would not recommend using Axe's method in most situations, since it forces you to buffer your shield tilt or do it slowly so you don't roll. The "perfect" method is the hardest and also quite controller-dependent, though evidently faster than or the same as the other methods in all areas.

I learned it and practiced using it always on platforms to improve my consistency, I get it about 80 percent of the time in a fast paced match, and it's amazing. You can use it to be safe in your shield but also able to safely escape a bad position, you can aerial out of a shield drop to do a both defensive and offensive option when your opponent is below a platform (really good for getting a Marth spamming utilt below platform), you can shield drop shine (faster than shine oos) and many other things. Really one of the most useful techniques there is.

Here's my preferred method, you do an ftilt with your stick then go down.

I am terrible at shield dropping. Sometimes I can do it, but most of the time I just end up spot dodging or rolling. It's really hard for me to do it consistently.
