Tired of snake's nade pulls? A counter strategy

So, playing a snake the other day, and I had this random idea. After he pulls a nade on my 3rd grab combo and getting nades to the face, I decide to uthrow instead.

You know that glitch on pictochat with the piranha plant when the piranha plant hits and then your uthrow connects. I had a similar thing happen with snake when he pulled a nade before I grabbed him.

The nade exploded at the top of the throw (when the pikmin goes up), snake flew out, and then the throw connected. I haven't had the time to test this out for sure with another person (basically because I lack another person to test it with), but I hope to test later tonite and get a vid.... if anyone else wants to confirm this before then, that'd be great.

Just another little quark about olimar. If verified... perhaps testing link's bombs and what not would be a good idea as well.

As an Olimar-mainer, a Snake-secondary-er, and an explosives expert, I'd say that the best counterstradegy for Snake's nades is to:

1. Camp and throw Pikmin
2. Grab the nade & throw it back (if they aren't cooking them)
3. Hit them with a fsmash, so the nade explodes on them and doesn't damage you

throwing nades back is an awful idea >_> stripping kills

this sounds like a cool idea Fino, i know exactly what you mean. they just pluck that grenade out and screw up the grab combo. hope this works.

was this thread inspired because of my topic ? :>

this happened to me before but i didn't think anything of it at the time (long long time ago when we was all newbies and even before dysnc ever happened :O )

maybe it will be something I can use against them, thanks for bringing this up



edit: not really for this topic, but stagepulling...it just happened on pokemon stadium 1 against snake. He was on the edge after i tried to spike and he air dodge and fell to it, i dac grabbed him and it pulled him under, but instead of throwing like i usually do i just let it pull to me and he glitched back under and fell to his death, this happens to me so often I can't even count but i ALWAYs throw because they glitch above the platform and figure mind as well throw him off and attempt to edge guard. maybe if you space it at the right point it will always pull them back under the stage and release the grab and they fall? let me know if anyone can test this, i'm not home atm will try it later. (it's not like stagepulling against ivysaur and ike during their up-b's, it's when you grab them physically off the ledge because oli can do that cause he's amazing)
