I absolutely stink at Smash 4.
I've been playing For Glory quite a lot, and I just cannot seem to beat anyone. I really want to improve my game, but the thing is i dont know how. I'm already convinced that aimlessly playing For Glory doesn't help too much and I probably should take it offline. But what do I do/what do i practice? Does anyone have some good practice tools/techniques they don't mind sharing? Any help is appreciated!

Get out of For Glory, find people here, other forums, facebook groups, chats, Smashladder or whatever place where people can get you feedback and have a friendly atmosphere, For Glory should only be for practicing if you don't have much time.
And obviously do your research, from basic terminology like DI, to more advanced techniques, or more character specific stuff, there are many guides and threads in here that contain that information.
And most importantly have fun of course, try not too push yourself to the point that you don't enjoy the game or get frustrated, and if you lose, keep the mentality that it's your fault and you gotta learn more, never blame the player who defeated you.

Don't practice with CPU's.
Also, try finding some tutorial videos. There's a bunch of useful techniques you can learn.

Thanks guys! I think I should also make it clear that I do have some Smash experience in PM, I know how to DI, momentum cancel, tech, etc., and I even knew how to float cancel but that obviously doesnt work in Sm4sh -sadface-

Oh well if that's the case just focus learning more game/ character specific things, and matchups of course.
And as i said, For Glory shouldn't be your go to option for practice, unless it's the only one available.
Smashladder is a good way since there's a lot of people and it has private chats.
