Tips on approaching an opening up an opponent that are universal.

Hello everyone ive been playing FG off and on and now im getting all the roll happys and shield grabbers.How do i approach as a whole what are all the options and how do i do them.Any and all answers would be appreciated.

Don't get hit, hit them until they die.

Outside of that, it all really depends on the tools you have available to you, which really varies based on the match up.

The rollers can usually be punished by not rolling and attacking the spot they'll get up at.
Shield grabbers can be spammed with projectiles or attacks that have disjointed hitboxes. Running at them but not attacking is also an option. When they try to grab, do a quick dodge and punish them afterwards with a grab by yourself. Requires very precise timing though.

^exactly this.

As MegaMan, as far as roll happy people, my down tilt always seems to catch the rollers off guard. It really depends on if your character and yourself are able to punish at the right time. There's always a recovery frame that you can punish them on. It's all about timing and positioning.
