Tips For Smash Bros. Club At a Highschool

I started a Smash Brothers club at my highschool. About 8-12 competiters show up, along with 5-8 people watching. The rules are your standard 2 stocks 6 minutes 2/3. The people in there, however, kind of suck donkey asshole. Should I bother teaching? If so, what should I teach? Any do's and dont's in a smash club?

We have a Smash Club at my school. My advice is this:
1) People will suck; you've just gotta deal with it
2) 8-player lets you put more people on one TV so you can have fewer spectators
3) When people leave say something like "thanks for coming" or "always good to have more players" because it helps prevent your numbers from waning
4) Get a projector or something for Sm4sh so everyone can see
5) Look around and make sure people are having fun, and do something about it if they're not. That's the most important thing.

At my school we've usually got a Melee corner and a Sm4sh corner, so if there's support for that I'd recomend it.

Just be positive in general. Don't talk down to anyone you beat. Also have you asked if anyone wants to do 2v2s? 3 stocks 8 minutes

you are not gonna have competitive masters so get ready for free for all's with items on. Just have fun and don't make a rule set. Just let the players choose how they wanna play at the time

My school has a smash club 3 tv's a wii u with 8 player smash (holding a mlg rules tourney when the spots fill) wii with pm and wii with melee. People are gonna suck and we (founders) don't always get to play because we get about 30 people to come on average. Just let people do their thing as a long them and you are having fun it's all that matters.

Is my school weird if we're 8th graders who are actually competitively interested? No joke, there's at least 10 of us.

Considering when the game first started Chillin 14 at the time organized a tourney with a good pot bonus just for Ken and Azen to show up, no.

Not at all. In fact, consider yourself lucky. Finding competitive Smash players, let alone Nintendo enthusiasts, are harder to find than a needle in a haystack in my school.

I'm so lonely...

Have multiple games I know it can be hard/expensive but try to bring more than smash 4 also for games pm and below use CRTs they give a competitive option and are easy to carry
