Sorry, I know this is really vague. But I'm a Sheik main and I just started playing seriously... and I'm getting demolished by Falcos left and right. Any advice would be really appreciated. Like, how I should approach, or how I should defend from bread-and-butter Falco options. Or even what common-sense combos I should be doing.

Also, any advice on getting out of Fox's Waveshine would be appreciated. I can sometimes DI inwards and out of it around the third Shine, but there's gotta be a better way... I'm so inconsistent.

You'd probably have better luck in the Sheik forums, I'm certain they have extensive literature about the Falco MU

My intuition says that you have unrefined, predictable movement and approaches right now. Really a Sheik should never be in a situation too often where you're getting wave shined or demolished by spacies since she has so many options.

Sheik also has so many braindead auto-combos on FFers and spacies using her tilts and throws....Up Air chains, Dair into tilts into Up airs (or even Dairs)

I was having trouble with this matchup as well. I found it beneficial to pick smaller stages with platforms so campy laser pressure can be avoided and won't stuff all of your approaches.

When Falco is at lower percents I recommend trying for grabs as a number one priority, downthrow techchase can really tack on the damage early on and lead into some combos. Very well-spaced aerials and needles I also find to be moderately effective at lower percents.

When he starts to get moderate/high percentage, dash attack becomes a great combo starter along with downthrow and tilts. The combos at this point should be pretty easy to string along with various tilts, dash attacks, dair/uair, etc. Try to finish combos with a strong attack like fair, bair, dsmash, etc. to get the falco off stage. His recovery options are pretty limited and he's one of the easier characters to edgeguard with shiek (bair/fair/nair).

Don't be afraid to go pretty far off stage to get an edgeguard, especially if up-b is being used.

Other than that, I've noticed nair and nairs out of shield are pretty good at stopping Falco combos. It comes out quickly and can stop shine shield pressure when timed right.
