Hi all, I was hoping you guys could give me a little help here. Quite obviously, fr playing ganon. In melee, ganon was my main and was extremly good with him, but now in brawl, I can't play him at all. I've been able to adapt my playing style for my other mains such as samus and zelda, but no matter how many time I try with ganon, I lose. Help would be appreciated.

Have you tried reading the other tip threads in this forum?
It would be a great start.

Ganondorf was also my #1 main back in my melee days. The first time I played brawl with him I got slaughtered :teeth:....Obviously he's slower and feels like he weighs a ton now. :ohwell:

The thing about Ganondorf in Brawl is that he has a high learning curve this time. For me I couldn't simply main Ganondorf from the get go. I had to gain a lot of offensive/defensive knowledge playing Brawl with other characters in order to somehow utilize that knowledge for Ganondorf.

Every character has certain unique moveset that takes time to figure out. The biggest flaw for Ganondorf is his speed obviously, so you have to be a quick thinker....You have to know the right moves to execute and make them count or else you will get tossed around like a rag doll due to his lag. You may think you know the "new" Ganondorf's moves already, but I would study his moves more closely......Find advantages/disadvantages/strageties while performing these moves. Try to utilize all of them and keep them in your head as you fight.

That was my very own personal advice as a Ganondorf main . Hope you find it useful.....

Well one big key is to realize that Brawl Ganon is ground based character, not aerial like he was in the past. However he still has some good moves in the air. The one you have to do the short hop downair with no lag. Just being able to do that effectively is worth about 15% of a perfect Ganon skillset. For me to do the shorthop stomp, I had to make Z jump. Sliq has a really nice guide here on the Ganon boards that every Ganon user should read. For me to do the shorthop stomp, I had to make Z jump.
