Tips for my first tournament?

I'm not sure if this belongs here. Oh well.

So a buddy and I are about to enter our first tournament this Sunday. It'll be doubles and we've been training for a long time. Living in Hawaii, the smash scene here is pretty small but I think I have what it takes to get my name out there.

I know that getting nervous won't be an issue for me, I understand the rules, counter picking, etc. For all you smashers who are actually active in the tournament scene, any advice for a newbie? Advice for doubles?

Try to not get nervous! After losing my first match I noticed that I was getting waaaaay too nervous. I took a couple of deep breaths and was able to not have a panic attack every time I got hit. Stay cool. Stay classy.

Just stay positive and have a fun time. Every win and loss you go through will only make you better at the game, which is of course why you're attending the tournament, so just play your best
