Hey I need help. I got burnt out of smash, it just got boring for me. I took a 7 month break and played a few matches yesterday. Smash still feels a bit stale. Any tips to make smash fresh again? Ps: I can't afford Melee or a WiiU.

Well why aren't you having fun? That could be from anything. Some people may not enjoy the game because they have depression or things going on in real life and can't put the focus on the game. Maybe competitive just isn't meant for you. Maybe you're not playing with any friends like the game is meant to be played, and I don't mean just playing FFA with items (I mean that's still really fun to me though) but if we're talking competitive, some solid online buddies or maybe in real life buddies to play the game with and **** around with while playing. You might need to go out to some tournaments and meet other people and become more integrated to a local Smash community.

There's not really enough information to got of for why you may not be having fun. It could be anything for why you may not have fun. Sometimes there's no reason and you really just don't find enjoyment in the game anymore.

I don't know much about your situation, but I can say I know how that is, because the same happened to me in Mario Kart 8.

Thank you for the well thought out reply, and I think my problem is that I'm not getting into my local smash community and only playing for glory. But I've found another game I want to get into competitively, and I'm still having a ton of fun in it after 700 hours. I might quit smash.

What I always "want" to do but never take the time to do, is get people on skype to play friendlies with. I think that would help, because then you can play other stages, and it becomes more of a social thing.

2v2 with friendly fire turned on is fun as hell.
