I'm playing a Fox friend tomorrow, and all he plays is Fox. Fox Fox Fox Fox Fox anything, and supposedly all he does is waveshine. Any tips on how to counter it? :)

Smash DI the shine so he goes past you (DI on the oposite direction he's going). Crouch canceling helps too but sadly falcon (I'm asuming you main falcon) hasn't got a good cc counter game so.... idk maybe it could work.

Falcon's advantage against fox is his amazing tech chase/punishing game, you've gotta master that. Up-throw > d-tilt works great at high% and you can finish him off with up-throw>knee (or f-smash if you don't feel confident). Also, Raptor works exelent for tech punishing and the knee ***** fox. For edgeguarding you can try ledge hoped uairs, those kicks have pretty good range and you wont get hit by a fire fox if you use it so..... and yeah stomp, stomp works a lot too, if they suck at DIng you can basicaly stomp(dair) > knee them everytime; or just stomp spamming if you feel like going crazy....

If all he does is waveshine I bet he'll loose.

Sheik's main weaknesses are spacies and if he's good at waveshining, he's gonna combo you. Then again he can do a lot of the same thing to Capt. Falcon. If you're good at gimping his recovery with needles and edgeguard well, then you could go Sheik.

Bear in mind that it's a friendly and not a counterpick fest. The most important thing to do is get something out of it and improve on what aspects you're weak in no matter who you play.

You can SDI away or CC the waveshines. What I do as marth/falcon and those barely waveshine combo characters is SDI away and try to get a grab or a jab in before their next move.

What's easier is always SDI the drill so you dont get shined.

a good fox will follow SDI/CC's but its just a guessing game from there.
