Timing For Ganon's Choke Combo?

Hey all,

I recently watched a combo video for Ganon and one of the moves I watched him do was something like this:

He'll use Side-B to choke slam the guy and then either...

1. Uses Down-A on the ground to kick the guy upwards or...

2. Uses a short-hopped Down-B to do a shockwave-like attack and knock them upwards

I can do this like 50% for the time, but I find that at other times the opponent recovers much too quickly from my Side-B to follow up with an attack.

Is there a timing for this so that I can do this consistently, or does it only work at a certain percentage?

yes, there is a timing to doing it. it's easy to learn ^^

you can do certain things to certain characters though.

You can D-Tilt everyone except DK, Link, Samus, Snake, Bowser, MK, IC's, Marth, Falco, Ganon, Lucario, Squirtle, Wario, and Wolf.

So over half the cast.

However, you can do other moves to other characters on that list.

You can F-Tilt Metaknight and Ice Climbers.

You can Jab DK, Link, Samus, Snake, and Bowser.

As for Marth, Falco, Ganon, Lucario, Squirtle, Wario, and Wolf, they have no immediate followup.

All of that only works if they try to DI the grab and roll. However, if they try and attack, then you can dtilt ANYONE before they hit you. Even the people not on the "Immediate Follow-up List"

Alright I'll keep that in mind, thanks.

Another problem I seem to be having with getting that combo going is that sometimes when I try to D-Tilt or Down-B the characters I choke slam, I almost always get interrupted on the follow up if they use a getting up attack because of their invincible frames.

If I use the correct move on the correct character, will the follow-up interrupt these get-up attacks as well?

I'm typing out a REALLY detailed list of what followups work on what characters. One thing that I can tell you is that the D-Tilt works best if you don't hold down completely. If you hold down far enough to cause a crouch, then crouching animation will be buffered before you can get your d-tilt out. Another alternative would be to set your c-stick to Attack rather than Smash. This helps Tilts come out quicker in this case.

EDIT: I haven't finished the chart yet, but here-The Murder Choke Breakdown

Wow awesome. This'll definitely help. Thanks! I'll be checking on that breakdown thread from time to time then!
