It can be annoying at times, especially with the Circle Pad already being finicky as it is, but this has been the case in every Smash Bros and you'll get used to it eventually. So while playing the 3ds demo I found the only way to tilt is by lightly pressing the analog stick in the direction you want. Is this the only way? I feel like it's annoying to do.
This is why I absolutely loathe Tap Jump and why the demo is starting to get on my nerves a little.U-tilt is the worst for me. I jump with the analog/joystick/circle pad, so I have to jump and hold til I land and attack.
I can't adjust to button jumps, I've been trying since about a month ago and I just can't do it.This is why I absolutely loathe Tap Jump and why the demo is starting to get on my nerves a little.U-tilt and Uair follow-ups can be a battle against the circle pad moreso than against your opponent.

I played with Tap Jump for the longest time, and about halfway through my time with Brawl it occurred to me that several of the issues with my play would be solved if I used button jumps. I've never looked back; Tap Jump just feels totally wrong now.I can't adjust to button jumps, I've been trying since about a month ago and I just can't do it.
So... The same as every other game in the series? So while playing the 3ds demo I found the only way to tilt is by lightly pressing the analog stick in the direction you want. Is this the only way? I feel like it's annoying to do.
I may give it a go. I was in project m one day, chose my name, went to play. I was like "Why am I not jumping?!" Replaced batteries, stupidly slapped the controller thing it was broken and it would fix it... I turned off tap jump...I played with Tap Jump for the longest time, and about halfway through my time with Brawl it occurred to me that several of the issues with my play would be solved if I used button jumps. It didn't take me too long to adjust to button jumping - probably 1-2 days until I was comfortable with the change (I didn't play Smash enough in general for muscle memory to complicate this process). If you think it'd help you to use button jumps instead, I'd suggest just going to Training mode or the waiting room vs Sandbag and trying out using button jumps followed different aerials - that's pretty much all I did.
Using Tap Jump is fine if it works for you, but I think most people agree that it can interfere with your intended actions.
i feel like the analog just doesn't feel rightSo... The same as every other game in the series?
