My friend and I were thinking that every character should be able to perform tilt Bs in every direction. We decided this was cool after wondering why not too many character have them in Melee (off the top of my head i can think of homing missiles vs. straight missiles and close vs. far boomerang, and that's it)
If you were to add tilt Bs, every character can be given up to 3 new special moves
For example, what if vB in the air (tilt or smash) made you take out a bomb, but on the ground tilt vB would take out a bomb, while smash vB would make you take out a Powder Keg? I imagine Link would carry the powder keg like he would a barrel, but it would do heavy damage if it makes contact.
Or, what if you could control the distance of your ^B by tilting or smashing? That could make for some interesting variation and mindgames. This could be used to sweetspot the ledge if you're too high and you don't want to waste time dropping any lower.
Another option for some characters could be that tilt ^B does a damage attack (think characters like Puff or Yoshi w/o recovery ^Bs) while the smash ^B performs a recovery maneuver.
