Hi! So I've been playing Smash Bros for over 15 years (suddenly feels old), but only very recently got into Competitive smashing. As I've been learning new techniques, one thing I see a lot of guides talk about is tilt attacks. I know what these are, but I have so many problems with them.
I'm currently playing using the Wii U Gamepad, due to lack of adapter, but this issue also happens on 3DS and on the gamecube controller for Melee. Basically, I can't get the hang of using tilt attacks. Every time I try, I end up using a smash attack. The only different is Megaman, who for some reason I always use his side tilt when I try to smash...I never understood that.
I've been looking all over but could never really find a good guide to learning to use tilts and smashes when you want to. The only thing I can think of is taking smash and tilt attacks off the same stick, but the second stick on the gamepad is in a pretty awkward placement sadly.
So, is there anything you can recommend for learning to control sensitivity/timing of smash/tilt attacks, or a certian button configuration you find comfortable? Any advice will help! Thank you!!
