It came out yesterday... there is no way a tierlist can be made yet, especially a decent one.
I'd say it will take a few months before a reasonably agreed upon tierlist comes up, and until one is reasonably agreed upon they really don't mean anything.

The game has only been out for a day in Japan, and you expect people to have an established tier list? Tier list creation requires extensive analysis over characters and their ability to react to certain situations, and act accordingly. Tier list are created through extensively character testing and tournament outcome.

Current time JST right now is is 4:56 AM on Friday 02/01/08. Assuming someone got the game at 12:00 AM on 01/31/08 they would have had it for about 29 hours now... Does this sound like a reasonable amount of time to have tested every character extensivly to be able to rank them compared to eachother. I believe no would be the correct answer.

I won't accept any tier list until at least 6 months after the game is out in EVERY region.

Expect an early tier list maybe in a half a year after the game's release. Remember that tiers are a reflection of high level play. So unti the tournament scene has some significant time, don't expect one.
Also, understand that the tier list is not something that is set in stone. Melee's tier list fluctuated as people got better at the game. Falco for instance, changed a lot when people figured out first how to short-hop laser, then how to pillar.
Expect early tier predictions within the first month of tournament play. But I wouldn't count on an agreed tier list for a while.

Closing because, as others have said, it's just way to silly to even try to put a formal tier list together. (Though it will be interesting to compare our initial impressions, which will undoubtedly become evident elsewhere, to whatever tier list ends up in place 5+ years from now.)
