I cut off the thumb of a wool glove and sewed the back so it wouldn't fray and I have been wearing it on my right thumb to play melee. It makes multishining A LOT easier. In fact I have zero troubles with it at all, it never comes off, and it still grips the C stick very well.
I slide from X to B to multishine, so cutting down on friction makes it a lot easier on my thumbs and much less dependent on humidity and how sweaty my hands are.
I just wanted to throw this out there, I'm sure people have done it in the past, but I would recommend trying it! I think I am going to try to find some silk or linen gloves to use instead of wool so I have a better feel on the buttons (the felt is quite thick) but the idea is the same.
