Hello, fellow IC players. I've been reading the IC guides for some time wondering where this technique was mentioned, and the closest thing I could find was in the de-synch guide, where it mentions how to do the freeze glitch:

" grab with Popo, fthrow and catch them with Nana."

Well, the idea that I'm not seeing (particularly because Brawl has kinda deadened Melee...:()was to grab with any IC you wish, and do d-throw or f-throw, but before they actually get away, just grab them again. For the d-throw, you'd re-grab immediately after they bounce off the ground, but before they fly into the air, away from grab range. For the f-throw, it's a little easier because you're already dashing after them when you tap forward, just grab them before they fly away.

Well, anyway, I'm absolutely positive this isn't a new technique or anything, but since I didn't really see any solid evidence of it being in the IC section, I thought I'd post the idea up.

The follow up question would be: How consistent are you with it?

*EDIT: Just tried it out...I could get the 1 re-grab with Nana, but past that, it's near impossible to follow up again: Nana (for me at least) kept throwing in a random direction. The re-grab can be done, but you've either got to have the reaction time of a god, or be able to control Nana's throw. Since the latter (I'm assuming) is impossible, and the former option means you'd have to react within 2-3 milliseconds of the throw itself, I'm gonna say: Stick to the tried-and-true chain grabs!

I find it funny that you bring this up, since while it's moderately common knowledge around here, it's not really talked about -_- So it makes complete sense you'd never see it. Also, kudos for bringing it up on your own.

You can somewhat control the way Nana throws by positioning her near the edge of the stage. She will always try to throw the opponent off if she's near it--with one or two weird exceptions--so if you can land grabs near the edge, you can guarantee a pattern of P-D-throw, N-F-Throw, etc. This can be used to zero-to-death most characters.

This also works with the edge of platforms. You have to be more careful though, since hitting the joystick too hard on your d-throw makes Nana fall through.

As for being in the middle of the level, you have a 50 percent chance of getting d-throw and f-throw (which have guaranteed re-grabbing) and 50 percent of b-throw or u-throw. Against fast fallers, with certain DI you can re-grab off the b-throw as well, so that can be up to 75% :p

That's handy if they prove capable of escaping d-throw d-air.
