Thoughts on the New 3DS

The brand new spanking "New 3DS" has been announced recently, which supports a c-stick like analog stick and 2 new trigger buttons! This means that faster smash attacks can now be performed with the new c-stick. Although this is great news for Smash, it also supports many other 3DS games.

Personally, I love it.

With the implementations of the new buttons, SSB4 for 3DS might actually have a competitive scene! The only thing that I hate about it is that I just got a regular 3DS .

What are your thoughts of the new model of the 3DS? How do you think it will affect Smash?

I'm actually very welcoming of this new 3DS. There were a LOT of games that couldn't run well on the original 3DS in 3D (Pokemon and FE:A being one of them) so better hardware makes it a deal for me.

Might as well throw my two cents in while it's here.

I like the New 3DS. It comes across as "3DS for hardcore gaming." Much like the 2DS is for a much more casual crowd, the New 3DS is for a more hardcore crowd. It obviously supports more competitive multiplayer and offers better control schemes for games like Snake Eater 3D and Kingdom Hearts while running better, presumably.

Do I kind of wish they'd built in the Circle Pad Pro from the word go, or at least with the XL redesign? Yeah, kinda. But beyond that, I'm really looking forward to this.

Not to mention, Xenoblade port? What other games could we see getting a 3D treatment? That's two Wii games so far including Donkey Kong Country Returns. The possibilities!
