Thought you ought to know - YouTube now does 720p/1080p, 60FPS videos as a standard.

Not inherently related to Smash and it's not something people can toy around with for the Wii U version yet. But I thought I should mention it, especially for those who record Smash videos.

You need to use Chrome to watch the videos like this, as far as I know, and you have to watch in 720p/1080p fot the 60FPS to work. But yeah, pretty much anyone can upload 60FPS videos now. I thought Smash content producers might need to know, as it would greatly benefit tutorial videos and such, especially those involving detailed frame data.

The possibilities for this as well as the increase in content-quality makes me drool.

I was able to watch 60fps videos from my Macbook Pro even though I don't have Google Chrome (I use Safari). I still set it up in HD, and I can see the 60fps quality.

I wonder if anyone else with a Mac has noticed the 60fps from Safari, because that shows Chrome isn't the only internet browser that can play 60fps videos.

Same for me... works with Safari.

Lying about my country.
From what I hear, it works with Safari, Chrome, and nothing else.

Hopefully, Firefox will get it working in their next update, but I'm not holding my breath, they still haven't added compatibility for 1080 in HTML5 mode.

I'm kinda scared that Google is making this exclusive to their browser on purpose to force people to switch.

The 60 FPS videos are incompatible with my Mozilla Firefox browser (version 32.0.3). I have to lower the video quality to 480p, just to even see them.

Edit: Firefox version 33.0.2 doesn't work either.

You lost me as needing Chrome. Chrome is cancer. I'll see if other browsers can do this. Thanks for the info though.

It also works on Internet Explorer 11. Not sure if Windows 8 is required.
Yes, but then you're using IE.

I heard it simply isn't compatible with Firefox (yet) and I'd guess lesser used browsers might be incapable of running it too.

As a frequent viewer of VGBC and CT content, though, this makes me very happy. All the 60 FPS Smashin' that I missed live.

With youtube now being able to show 60 frame video's this means it can be used to help produce frame data gathering worthy videos. What we need now is someone with a 3ds capture card installed to produce a bunch of video's of simply using every attack at point blank against the level 1 cpu before shielding. Yes it will take most likely a few hours but the smashboards community will do the rest of the heavy lifting and figure out the frame data.

Doing the method I listed we could get

Start up frames
At the very least a general idea of what frame the hit box comes out
Cool down frames
