Super Smash Bros. Melee Rulesets


Super Smash Bros. Melee[edit]
Items are set to off and none. Pause disabled
4 stocks and 8 minute time limit.
2/3 games; 3/5 for Winner's, Loser's, and Grand Finals
Wobbling is allowed. The freeze glitch and infinite stalling are banned however.
First stage is decided by banning from the Starter Stages in P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character.
In a Best of 3 match, a player can ban 1 stage upon winning a game. In a Best of 5 match however, there are no stage bans.
Maximum allowed time between games is 60 seconds. Any player violating this rule will be issued a loss.
Dave's Stupid Rule: A player cannot counterpick the last stage he/she won on unless mutually agreed to by both players.

General Rules:


2 stock, 6 Minutes, Items set to off


Custom Fighters is set to OFF. (No custom moves)
Mii's are banned!


-No Amiibos
-No excessive stalling
-Best of 3 sets for all matches except for top 4. Top 4 will be best of 5 for both singles and top 3 for doubles.


Suicide moves:
-If a match ends with a player using Ganon's Flame Choke the win will go to the initiator of the move.
-Using suicide moves as Bowser, Kirby, Wario, or King Dedede will not result in the initiator winning. If it occurs, the results on screen will stand.


Controllers:
Allowed controllers: Gamecube Controller, Wii U Pro Controller, Wiimote, 3DS (Wii U Gamepad is not allowed)
-if you fail to desync your controller and this causes large amounts of time to be wasted, you will be DQ'd. This ruling is at the discretion of the TO,


Stage Selection:
-You cannot counter pick to any stage you have already won on.
-A Gentleman's Clause will be used in this tournament. That means any stage may be played on if both players agree to it.
