My main problem with aerials is timing and height. I know i should just practice but some tips would be nice.

A little bad habit that I struggled with when I was starting was that I rarely chased players up high above the stage or outside of it. I was always playing vs. My friend who played Ness back in the day and it made me too scared to chase him out because of how PK2 (him hitting himself with the thunder and into you) is able of destroy anything. But one day I decided I wouldn't cower no matter what, and that I will chace opponents into the darkest abyss if I have to. Of course I died a lot more at first. Missing my recoveries, being hit instead of hitting, and not being able to come back after hitting them. But soon enough my off-stage falco became the stuff of nightmares. With my aerial combat abilities I was able to take stocks off of players who are million times better than me by taking them into the air, even though they are much better than me in the neutral(neutral is a term describing the start of a fight on the stage without either of you having neither an advantage/disadvantage yet) so yeah. You have to cross the line just to remember where its layed. Chase all the enemies and die as many times as you have to. Soon enough you'll gain a wild instinct helping you even in the worst kind of situations.

Advice - remember that there are only two types of ground jumps - short hops and full jump. A short hop will always be the same height as well as the full jump. You can count on where your attack will land if you know the distance of your jumps well.

Practice your air attacks both jump heights. Which moves can use use of a short hop without ending in landing lag? Which moves can you use out of a full jump without ending in landing lag? Where do those moves hit when you use them in the air? Can you use a second air attack after using one off a full jump? How about after air dodges?

Get used to these things. Go into training and do a little aerobic exercise. Short-hop forward, turn around, short-hop forward, turn around, etc. Full jump an air-dodge, practice attacking out of that. Practice air attacks out of shield, even practice air dodges out of shield.

Full jumps are underrated. Don't try to always short hop. Full jumps often counter short hops if you time it right.

Once you are accustomed to the speed and distance of your jumps, you an more easily quantify where your air attacks will land. You can more or less count on certain attacks being there when you need them.
