um...plausible?
And I honestly doubt Nintendo would make that big of a mistake on brawl considering a lot of players will focus mainly on unlocking the characters, then go straight online, so if the characters are already unlocked then that would make the rest of the game worthless to some players.

Dang Aryman, when I read this thats exactly what I was going to post >_<

In strikers you still needed to unlock the characters to use them on your own system. Its the same way on Guitar Hero 3 for the wii, all songs and such are avaliable whether or not you've unlocked them. I wouldn't put it past them to do something like this, but I don't really agree, it will debase offline play.

You could say unlocking all the characters is...

You don't need to correct his spelling. It's been done. The thread is still open to answering the question and/or making witty uses of the word plosible.

Are we talking being able to see characters you haven't unlocked? Or actually being able to use them yourself if you go online, without actually unlocking them? Never played Strikers.

There's a very good chance you'll be able to see them. Or else the online interface would have to check every single player, and make sure they've all unlocked each character. If one person hadn't, they'd have to remove it from everyone's select screen. I doubt they'll go through the trouble of doing that.

Playing them without unlocking just because you're online, tho? Probably not. Each person will get their own select screen showing what they've unlocked and nothing else. You'll see the character's picture at the bottom if someone picks something you haven't unlocked yet, but it'll look like their token is off to the side (if they even show the opponents' tokens at all).

What he said is what I think on this matter.

That'd spoil the game when Japanese kids are wiping us all over the floor with some character you didn't know was even in. finding correct spelling on smashboards is implosible. (in both senses of the word.)

Well, it's not like seeing characters is going to ruin the game for you or anything. Like other people have said, it was the same for Mario Kart, but no one put their DS down and cried cause it was spoiled for them.

BTW, yes, it'll most likely work this way.

I think its been said that only characters you have unlocked can be used in online play. However, if your opponent has unlocked someone you haven't they can use them, while you can't. So if you don't want any spoilers, (If you haven't seen them online), I wouldn't playing online until you unlock all of the characters. However, if you don't care, then have at it, lol

First of all it's plausible, not plosible.

Second of all is to what I want to state. If you see the character you didn't know was in online then you'd still get that feeling of excitement from know they're playable. At least for me.

Sakurai already said that if someone's unlocked a character, it will be usable online. So if one of your opponents has everyone unlocked, you'll see everyone.
