So after a 6 year Melee absence from 2007 to 2013 and then 2 years of gameplay this game doesn't hold up for me due to the fact that its glitchy, has dumb AI, and a terrible online community. This isn't the only game I've found unplayable now. I also, due to the awkward controls find PS1, PS2, and PSP games borderline unplayable. Is it just because I am older and less subjective? Or was the game just not very good to begin with? Keep in mind I still own this game, a Wii, a Wii U, many other Gamecube games, an XBOX 360, XBOX ONE, Windows PC, and Android Phone. But yeah, there are also some games on those systems that have mechanically shown their age. Also, I find it to be a glitchy and sloppy mess of a game. It's clearly unfinished and rushed. Glitches like Wavedashing and L-Cancelling are the 2 glitches that make the online community terrible and there's many oversights, like infinite reflector, boomerang superjump, cape glitch, yo-yo glitch, long grapple, supernova/black hole, and the name entry glitch. Also, the AI can be atrocious. Luigi, Ness, and Jigglypuff are obvious examples, but then you can win against every level 9 computer player by doing absolutely nothing.
