I havent thought about this, but what about the third party characters that dont seem likely, but make them an AT? That would be cool, if they needed AT room. Anyways, what do you guys think?

I think there won't be any 3rd party ATs apart from the franchises that will have a character playable in Brawl ie: Metal Gear, Sonic (come on guys, you know it'll happen), etc...
So we'd probably see Tails and something of the sort for Metal Gear.

Perhaps, other company games that are old, but appeared on a Nintendo platform.

I highly doubt we'll get AT from companies other than Nintendo and the companies that will contribute a character. Why? Because, it would cost more money.

It wouldn't cost money if the company intentionally gave the characters to Nintendo. Brawl would essentially be one thing for most companies: FREE ADVERTISEMENT. Get your character in the game, get a stage from your game, get an item/AT from your game, that's free advertisement right there. For no cost.
I'd imagine the only time any company would request money for this sort of thing would be if Nintendo approached them directly for it, but I believe Snake is a pretty good show of what I mean. I doubt Nintendo paid a thing out of pocket to get Snake in. Other companies might do the same.
And to be honest, to make it the best game ever, do you think the budget for this game is LOW? Frankly, this game will likely sell far more copies than it costs to produce the game, from start to launch.
