Hey guys SpicyMango here and this is a bit of a different post. I've been thinking a lot lately as I watch more and more competitive play and get more invested in the competitive Smash scene that this community needs to be shown more. We are an uber passionate community who has turned this game franchise into something amazing. I'm a HUGE film fan and have been watching more and more documentaries lately and I've just been so inspired by this passionate community. I'm thinking about making a Smash Documentary highlighting the history of Smash Bros and most importantly the competitive aspect of it. I want to film the tournaments and show people how passionate of a community we truly are. These are some of the things I'd want to film:
  • Game History
  • Tournaments
  • Competitive Players
  • Famous players/commentators (m2k, Zer0, Omni, etc.)
  • Audience interviews
  • Local smaller meetups
  • Highlights of competitive Smash history
These are some of the things I'd want to do in a Smash documentary. I feel very passionate about this community since everyone has been so nice and I want to show people how amazing the Smash community is. If there's enough interest in the project I will gladly open a kickstarter for the film for the expenses (Proper equipment, a better editing software, tickets for traveling and hotel fees, etc). But anyway guys, this project is in the VERY VERY early stages of planning. I just hope you all will be open to the idea and how it may end up! Oh, and the project of the film? This Is Smash.
