A really, REALLY good video made by Innuendo Studios, who writes pieces about gaming culture.

definitely a must-watch.

This is well produced and it's cool to see that this guy is genuinely excited about Melee, but it's pretty misinformed and ignorant at times. He repeats his analogy to the sports fan who doesn't play, but just yells at his TV... he then goes on to make all these off-base assessments of the metagame while still practicing his short-hopping. I don't know if he's aware of this irony, but it's pretty funny nonetheless.

In my opinion, this video covers a very similar topic/target audience, but is much more informed and helps to showcase a side of the game that Innuendo Studios is probably unaware of.

He was pointing out at the end that he thinks he understands why sports fans are like that (because he is like that with melee). The point is that melee is a good spectator game (he is clearly really bad - practicing short hops - but he likes the game anyway).

^spot on. I equate it to being similar to the fandom of Professional Wrestling which I(sometimes) am a part of,as the passions and reactions are very similar in many ways.
