Smash Rookie
No. No one calls me doodles. I very literally came up with that name yesterday and slept on it. Why that name? I tend to go through pseudonyms, but "doodles" as a name just doesn't stop putting a smile on my face, and that's what I want to bring with me into anything formal Smash: a smiling, light-hearted attitude. God knows it's all I've got, save for my blue-ribbon modesty.
My Smash history:
Smash 64 on the N64. No, that's not a coincidence. I genuinely can't remember who I played most, cuz I was all over the place. All I really remember about that game was old school Hyrule Temple (where a little boy first found there was room in his heart for blocky, fantasy architecture) and a three-for-all with some neighbor brothers and the older brother warned "watch out, he's good with items!" just as I jumped and launched a capsule at him.
Melee. Never owned, but pretty much played it every weekend at a friend's house for 2 years. He played Fox, I (forgive me for this, please don't cleanse my account with fire) ended up taking a shine to Falco. My shining achievement (ok, I have a problem) was that I could beat 3 Samus' at level 9 consistently. Then I decided to play around with Marth, and during this time, I learned there was such a thing as competitive Smash. I learned to wavedash, shield grab, a couple other things, then my friend and I stopped hanging out.
Brawl. Let's uh... Glaaaaaze on over that bit. Suffice it to say I enjoyed playing Sub-Space Emissary, then shelved the game until...
Project M. That's where I'm at now. Playing around with mostly Falco and Link, getting back into the tech stuff, edgeguarding, spacing, etc. I'd like to start attending Smash events, find me a senpai (and now I've realized that M2K is the Angelina Jolie of Smash...), and mingle with the community. Hopefully I'll get good enough by then that if I help someone warm their hands up, I don't look like I'm there to make fun of the game. That would be awkward.
Well, I apologize to your eyes if you read all that, and if you didn't read it all... We're not so unalike, you and I. I'm looking forward to getting better, playing with you guys, and making some friends. Whoever posts next is honor-bound to be my obligatory rival-without-background. YES. You shall be my Gary Oak.
