We've got thousands of competetive smash players on these forums, from those that can't do any techniques but still try to compete, to the technical god and mindgame geniuses. Smash is a game that is far too complicated for the developers to test, find, and edit out every single potentially exploitable game mechanic, and not long after the game is released, we'll have floods of newly discovered "new" techniques.

Those that complain that wavedashing is gone really shouldn't. It was a very helpful technique, had lots of potential in all sorts of situations, but, in the end, it WAS an exploit. But fear not, unless Nindento plans to frequently patch their game, there will be scores of new exploits to be found and perfected.

For those of you that are shoving it in the competetive players faces that wavedashing is gone, you're still out of luck. For starters, this isn't leveling the playing field; good competetive players can beat out substantially worst players using no advanced techniques at all. If you're not willing to learn advanced techniques, you'll never be good at competetive games. Secondly, no, you can't wavedash. You can't SHFFL. Nobody that can consistently perform the advanced techniques can possibly be shallow enough to justify their removal with such simple arguements as "it was a glitch anyway", or "it adds nothing ot the game". (I did, however, see an impressive, well-written, logical post explaining why the poster felt that L Canceling was not an advanced technique that was important to a metagaming community.) You only say these things to boost your ethos.

Perfect explanation, really well writen, thats exactly what I was saying too, those who couldn't do it are happy because they don't have to practice something thats not in the game or have it used on them.

You guys really need something other than posting those same pictures over and over. I've been browsing the forum for 3 minutes and I've already seen that Picard and anime pic used twice, and the Giga one used three times.

Seriously kids, the same joke over and over is not funny (and in your case, wasn't funny the first time either).

I think through repetition the picard one can find its funny.

On the topic its well written and makes a good point. Its just been stated a lot. Also there are just some people who wont see the light for a while.

I'm just sick of these threads, really

All this new exciting info coming in from E for All and there are still people insisting Brawl will be terrible because their precious "advanced techniques" didn't make the cut, and then people have to respond by telling them Brawl will be fun even without the physics exploits of Melee, and it's a never-ending cycle of people who will never shut up about it ever

What amazes me is that the discussion continues to spawn new threads instead of being contained in one or two threads

So I facepalm, and post a relevant image to express my annoyance, I guess

Although I suppose it's my own fault for posting the most widely-used facepalm image in existence
