Smash Apprentice
We've got thousands of competetive smash players on these forums, from those that can't do any techniques but still try to compete, to the technical god and mindgame geniuses. Smash is a game that is far too complicated for the developers to test, find, and edit out every single potentially exploitable game mechanic, and not long after the game is released, we'll have floods of newly discovered "new" techniques.
Those that complain that wavedashing is gone really shouldn't. It was a very helpful technique, had lots of potential in all sorts of situations, but, in the end, it WAS an exploit. But fear not, unless Nindento plans to frequently patch their game, there will be scores of new exploits to be found and perfected.
For those of you that are shoving it in the competetive players faces that wavedashing is gone, you're still out of luck. For starters, this isn't leveling the playing field; good competetive players can beat out substantially worst players using no advanced techniques at all. If you're not willing to learn advanced techniques, you'll never be good at competetive games. Secondly, no, you can't wavedash. You can't SHFFL. Nobody that can consistently perform the advanced techniques can possibly be shallow enough to justify their removal with such simple arguements as "it was a glitch anyway", or "it adds nothing ot the game". (I did, however, see an impressive, well-written, logical post explaining why the poster felt that L Canceling was not an advanced technique that was important to a metagaming community.) You only say these things to boost your ethos.
