Wazzup ppl? Lash here saying after a long boring wait, i am finally going to see my first scary movie, The Wolfman. And i mean the new Wolfman movie with Benicio Del Toro. My favorite movie monsters are definitely werewloves so i freaked when i saw the trailer for this. I have heard many mixed reviews about the movie. Regardless i can't wait to see it. I will post a review for it on here after i watch it. I just hope it's not another gorefest like most modern horror films are. I'll write back very soon! Til then, l8r.
REVIEW TIME!
So i just saw the movie. Here is my Review (note that my views are rly different from the rest of the world):
Alright, well, personally, i thought this movie was AWSUM. especially as how scary movies are today. Now, i am not a big fan of modern scary movies but this won me over. The setting is in Blackmoor/London England 193-something. The plot is a man named Ben Talbot was mysteriously murdered one night(OoOo0Oo spooky!). His brother, Lawrence, currently lives in New York. He comes back to London, his hometown, to investigate the (spo0oOky) mystery. some ppl say a man murdered him, some say a beast did it, which is of course the werewolf duh. Lawrence stays at his father's mansion, Lawrence's old home. Late one night, Lawrence goes to a gypsie gathering place, because these gypsies seem to know alot about the recent attacks and strange murders. Then a the beast (werewolf) attacks and starts killing the gypsies. It soon leaves and Lawrence goes after it, it bites him but before it kills him, some villagers shoot at it, scaring it away. Eventually Lawrence finds out he is now a werewolf! (oh noes!) I will not spoil anything else because i rly think u should see the movie. Anyway, now for the true reviewing part. As far as how scary movies are today, this was phenomenal. Most scary movies today are either just big gorefests trying to make u vomit or disturbing so much to where every scene scars ur mind for life. This movie had medium suspense, and gore that was a good amount for a Rated R movie. That's right, an amount of gore worth taking for once! In truth there was not all that much to scare u, probably leaving scary movie fans wanting more. The plot was very good considering how they went pretty old-school with this. They added a few twists that helped the plot actually, leaving you craving for more. The special effects were mainly focused on gore whenever there was gore on screen. They almost went overboard on focusing the HD blood and guts but it was fine. Perfect amount for those just starting out on watching scary movies. Now, i personally don't want to name this a "scary" movie, because there was more action than scaring.
All in all it was a great movie. I think most of you should see this.
